I grew up in a socialist country. I know Europeans (and Russians) who laud the European welfare state with its free this and free that, its 32 hour work weeks, six week vacations, and an economies that produce nothing while keeping everyone happy and well fed. You can not spend wealth you are not creating. I tend to think that the state’s only responsibility is keeping others away from my property. Call it unpopular, but we’ll be the last ones standing if the next Congressional election goes the way I think it will.

Random musings on technology, venture capital, and New York City.
I am a Venture Partner at Greycroft Partners, a Venture Capital firm in New York City. I am also a three-time founder and CEO of software companies including Plumtree Software and Elastra. Spent most of my life working on databases and working with VCs. Finally bit the bullet and joined one. Ready for something new.
Passionate and intense about Software and New York City.
